Events celebrate learning!
These social media posts highlight just a few of this year’s student events, often held in collaboration with our county consortium.
Video Expo: Take 12
Now in its twelfth year, our annual festival showcases original student-produced films and is proudly sponsored by the Warren County Consortium for Student Enrichment. The creativity and initiative inspired by this event even prompted the NJ Association for Gifted Children to introduce a Student Films division to their statewide competitions.
TechFest
Initially a celebration of our newly refurbished STEM space, TechFest has evolved into a non-competitive showcase of student innovation in technology and digital creativity. Young students demonstrate mini-robotics and greenscreen techniques, while high school alumni return each year to present their original apps—sparking inspiration and ambition in the next generation of tech innovators.
Chess Tournaments
The county Chess Tournaments are a student favorite, with players eagerly competing for a spot on the team. This year, our school proudly earned third place in both the elementary and middle school divisions.
Primary Grades Chess
Chess offers a valuable opportunity for students to develop focus, emotional regulation, and strategic thinking. Many of our first and second graders are introduced to chess during enrichment time, and soon gain the confidence and skills to play independently during indoor recess. YearGame
YearGame is a math challenge centered around "creativity with constraints," where students use the digits of the current year to build expressions for as many numbers as possible. Some years allow full solutions; other years, solving even half the values is a win. Often, one breakthrough expression can unlock a cascade of other solutions, as with this gem:
{[2 + (0!)]!}!! = 48
